At Tax Planning Forum, LLC (“Tax Forum”), your privacy is important to us. This privacy policy describes what Personal Information we collect from our customers, how we collect, use, store, and disclose it. Tax Forum provides specialized professional education and information services, including continuing education for attorneys, CPAs, enrolled agents, and other business professionals in the form of streaming live and recorded webinars and seminars, in-person seminars, webcasts and educational materials. We may collect information about you in connection with these products and services (collectively, “Services”).

If you submit any Personal Information relating to other persons to us or our service providers in connection with the use of our Services, use of www.taxforums.com or in connection with registering for or attending one of our seminars or webinars (collectively, the “Site”), or by responding to our emails, notices, you represent to Tax Forum that you have the authority to share such Personal Information with us and authorize us to use the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

By using our Site or Services, you further represent that you are over the age of eighteen (18) years old. Younger individuals should not provide any Personal Information through Tax Forum's Site and Services. Your use of Tax Forum's Website and Services constitutes your affirmative consent for Tax Forum to use Personal Information as described within this Privacy Policy.

Types of Information Collected and How It Is Used

Personal Information that we collect includes your name, mailing address, telephone number, fax number, credit card information, credit card billing information, professional license or permit number (such as your State Bar ID(s), CPA license, Enrolled Agent and PTIN ID), state(s) of licensure, employer/firm name, email address, seminar/webinar attendance data, survey data, and other information provided by you. Further, in connection with your attendance at our online, streaming and/or on-demand programs, our service providers may collect information on your internet browser, computer IP address, operating system and other information for purposes of program administration, facilitating program access and tech support. This Privacy Policy describes our practices in connection with information that we collect through the Site and Services that Tax Forum owns and operates.

Email Addresses

Tax Forum collects email address information from you when you order a product or service, register for a seminar or webinar, enter your email address on our Site, provide your email address on one of our surveys or forms, when speaking to one of our customer service representatives, or when your firm/employer provides it to us pursuant to a contractual relationship between Tax Forum and your firm.

Tax Forum collects email address information from you so that we may confirm and deliver your purchases of Services, respond to your inquiries, communicate with you regarding your order or registration, provide online login information, provide topical information that we believe may be of interest to you, and to alert you of other Tax Forum webinars, products, and services that may be of interest to you.

We may need to send service-related emails from time to time, such as receipts for products or services purchased, login information for online or on-demand webinars or seminars, or to provide access to handout materials. You may not opt out of receiving these service-related communications. Tax Forum does not sell, rent, or otherwise release your email address to any third-party (other than our third-party service providers), and we do not use your email for any purpose other than as stated in this Privacy Policy.

Opt Out Rights

You always have the right to opt out of receiving electronic marketing and promotional communications from Tax Forum. In your request, please specify the Personal Information you want to review, how you want to correct or update the information, whether you wish to opt out of our promotional email, or other restrictions you would like on the use of your email address. Postal Addresses

Tax Forum collects postal mailing address information from you so that we may fulfill the orders you submit to us, send you materials relevant to the seminar(s) and webinar(s) you sign up for, and to inform you of Tax Forum products and services relevant to your practice and profession. You have the right to opt out of receiving postal mailings from Tax Forum. If you do not wish to receive postal mailings from Tax Forum in the future, send an email to support@taxforums.com and be sure to include your name and mailing address.

Credit Card Information

Tax Forum uses your credit card information only to process payment for the Tax Forum products and services you purchase. We use third parties to provide credit card processing for your purchases. When you sign up for a service or order a product from Tax Forum, the credit card information necessary to process your credit card payment goes directly to our third-party payment processor. If you provide credit card information to us over the phone, the charge is processed through the third-party payment processor and your credit card information is not retained by us. Our Site and those of our third-party payment processor uses encryption through secure socket layer technology (SSL) to safeguard credit card transactions.

Comments, Reviews and Feedback

When you submit to us any comments, reviews, or feedback about our Services through our Site or in connection with our webinars and seminars, you authorize Tax Forum to use such comments, reviews or feedback for our promotional purposes. We may use your first name, first letter of your last name, plus the name, location and general size of your firm in connection with such comment, review, feedback or other submission.

This website contains links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by Tax Forum. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. When you leave our site, you should read the privacy statements of every website that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy policy applies only to information collected by Tax Forum’s Site and Services.

Collecting Information

Tax Forum and our third-party service providers may collect Personal Information in the following ways:

  • Through our Site and Services: We may collect Personal Information when you register for or inquire about a webinar, online or in-person seminar or webcast, view live and on-demand streaming media, make a purchase from Tax Forum or attend one of our seminars or webinars. We also collect and maintain Personal Information relating to your attendance, survey responses, and testing data (for obtaining professional education credits). We may use third-party web technology and analytics, such as Google Analytics and Adobe Flash. You may adjust your privacy settings in the Google and Adobe platforms, but adjusting same may adversely affect your user experience on our Site and performance of our third-party video platforms.
  • Offline: We may collect Personal Information from you offline, such as when you attend one of our seminars, place an order over the phone, or contact our customer service offline.
  • Online: When you attend one of our online, streaming or on-demand webinars or seminars, our third-party service providers or us may collect information on your web browser, IP address, device information, operating system, and we track your activities on the platforms, among other information.
  • From Other Sources: We may receive Personal Information from other sources, such as publicly available data, joint marketing partners, and other third parties.

Using or Disclosing Information

Tax Forum utilizes the services of third-party services providers to assist it with Site and database development and administration, payment processing, marketing, and provide the platforms for presentation of our online, streaming and on-demand seminars and webinars. We, and our third-party service providers, may use Personal Information:

  • To send administrative, billing, and/or change in terms and policies information to you.
  • To complete and fulfill your purchase to process a payment, inquire about your order, provide access to seminars and webinars, or ship items to you.

  • To National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), bar association and/or other governing professional bodies to apply for and certify the continuing education credits that you earn from attending our seminars and webinars.
  • To a third-party involved with Tax Forum in a reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of Tax Forum’s business, assets, and liabilities.
  • As we believe necessary or appropriate: (a) under applicable law, (b) to comply with legal process, (c) to respond to requests from public and government authorities, (d) to protect our operations, (e) to enforce our Terms of Use, (f) to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property or that of you or others, (g) to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of data used to store information directly on internet browsers when you visit websites. Our website is not configured to recognize "do-not-track" signals. The www.taxforums.com site does not use cookies. We take no action on "do-not-track" requests. Some of our vendors, such as ON24 and CE21, may use cookies on their websites. We are not responsible for the collection, usage and disclosure policies and practices (including the data security practices) of other organizations, such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, ON24, CE21, or any other app developer or provider, social media platform provider, operating system provider, wireless service provider, or device manufacturer, including any Personal Information you disclose to other organizations through or in connection with any of Tax Forum’s social media pages.

Tax Forum will take reasonable precautions to protect Personal Information in its possession from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. The security of your Personal Information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number) on our registration or order forms, the applicable systems encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the Personal Information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. We select service providers that maintain high levels of data encryption and safeguards. Despite our efforts to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Our third-party service providers may store, back-up and process your Personal Information in other countries. Your Nevada Privacy Rights

Nevada Revised Statutes Sections 603A.300-360 requires us to disclose that Nevada consumers may request that website and online service operators like Tax Forum not sell certain information about them–referred to in the law as “covered information.” Tax Forum does not sell or rent your covered information.
