Program Prerequisites/Level: The Forum is an advanced program designed (a) to provide participants with knowledge of tax planning opportunities using flow-through entities, (b) to make participants aware of changes in the law impacting the use of flow- through entities and (c) to become more knowledgeable of the tax rules that apply to flow-through entities. A participant should be a CPA or tax attorney with (i) at least two years of concentrated experience in flow-through taxation or (ii) at least five years of general tax experience with a general understanding of flow-through principles. “Fundamentals of Flow-Through” is an intermediate program designed to provide participants with a better understanding of the tax rules relating to the operation and use of flow-through entities and to make participants aware of changes in the law impacting the use of flow-through entities. A participant should be a CPA or tax attorney who has had some limited exposure to flow-through principles. No advance preparation is required for either program.
CPE/CLE Credit: Attendees generally will receive CPE/CLE credit, with program sponsors cooperating to certify attendance. Application for approval has been submitted to the appropriate state agencies, including the State of California (whose approval is pending). Each program should qualify for up to
20 hours of CPE or CLE credit based on a 50-minute credit hour and if all live Q&A sessions are attended. Because the credit requirements vary from state to state and are governed by different regulatory agencies, we suggest you contact your governing body about your individual requirements and the applicability of the program to meet them.
Tax Planning Forum, LLC is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.
