At Tax Planning Forum LLC (“Tax Forum” or “we”, “our” or “us”), your privacy is important to us. This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes the types of information we collect from you and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information. Tax Forum provides specialized professional education and information services, including continuing education for attorneys, CPAs, enrolled agents, and other business professionals in the form of streaming live and recorded webinars and seminars, in-person seminars, streamed self-study continuing education programs, webcasts and other educational materials (collectively, “Services”). We may collect information about you in connection with your use of www.taxforums.com (“Site”) and the use of our Services.
Each time you access or use the Site, register for seminars, webinars or self-study programs, or provide information to Tax Forum online or offline, you signify your acceptance of Tax Forum’s then-current Privacy Policy. Your use of Tax Forum’s Site and Services constitutes your affirmative consent for Tax Forum to use your personal information as described within this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy may be revised or updated from time to time. Accordingly, you should check the Privacy Policy regularly for updates.
If you submit any information relating to other person(s) to us or our service providers, you represent to Tax Forum that you have the authority to share such information with us and authorize us to use the information provided in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Types of Information Collected
Personal Information that we collect includes your name, mailing address, telephone number, fax number, credit card information, credit card billing information, professional license or permit number (such as your State Bar ID(s), CPA license, Enrolled Agent and PTIN ID), state(s) of licensure, employer/firm name, email address, seminar/webinar attendance data, survey data, and other information provided by you. Further, in connection with your attendance at our online, streaming and/or on-demand programs, our service providers may collect information on your internet browser, computer IP address, operating system and other information for purposes of program administration, facilitating program access and tech support. This Privacy Policy describes our practices in connection with information that we collect through the Site and Services that Tax Forum owns and operates.
Collecting Information
Tax Forum and our third-party service providers may collect personally identifiable and/or non-personally identifiable information in the following ways:
- Through our Site and Services: We may collect Personal Information when you register for or inquire about a seminar, webinar, or on-demand self-study program on streaming media, make a purchase from Tax Forum, or attend one of our seminars or webinars. We also may collect and maintain Personal Information relating to your attendance, survey responses, and testing data, which is used to track attendance and as required to provide attendees with professional or continuing education credits. We also use collected Personal Information in order to process payments through our third-party payment processor. We may use third-party web technology and analytics, such as Google Analytics and Adobe Flash. You may adjust your privacy settings in the Google and Adobe platforms, but adjusting same may adversely affect your user experience on our Site, the performance of our third-party video, and streaming technology platforms.
- Offline: We may collect Personal Information from you offline, such as when you attend one of our in-person seminars, place an order over the phone, or contact our customer service offline.
- Online: When you attend one of our online, streaming or self-study webinars or seminars, our third-party service providers or we may collect information on your web browser, IP address, device information, operating system, and we track your activities on the platforms, among other information.
Use of Collected Information
Tax Forum utilizes the services of third-party services providers to assist it with Site and database development and administration, payment processing, marketing, and provide the platforms for presentation of our online, streaming and self-study seminars and webinars. We and our third-party service providers may use Personal Information:
- To respond to your inquiries and fulfill your requests.
- To send administrative, billing, and/or change in terms and policies information to you.
- To complete and fulfill your purchase to process a payment, inquire about your order, provide access to seminars and webinars, or ship items to you.
- To provide communications to you to access our online, streaming, and self-study seminars, webinars or other Services.
- To send you with updates on emerging tax issues and targeted marketing communications about our Services.
- To provide you with notices about your CPE and/or CLE credits.
- To identify you and/or your device when accessing seminars, webinars and self-study courses that you purchased or for which you signed up.
- For business purposes, such as data analysis, audits, developing new products, enhancing, improving or modifying our Site and Services, marketing, assessing user experience, site administration, monitoring our promotional campaigns, and otherwise operating Tax Forum’s business.
- By aggregating Personal Information in a manner that does not personally identify you or any other users of our Site and Services, (for example, we may aggregate Personal Information to calculate the percentage of our users who reside in a particular State).
Email Addresses
Tax Forum collects email address information from you when you order a product or Service, register for a seminar or webinar, enter your email address on our Site, provide your email address on one of our surveys or forms, when speaking to one of our customer-service representatives, or when your firm/employer provides it to us pursuant to a contractual relationship between Tax Forum and your firm.
Tax Forum collects email address information from you so that we may confirm and deliver your purchases of Services, respond to your inquiries, communicate with you regarding your order or registration, provide online login information, provide topical information that we believe may be of interest to you, and to alert you of other Tax Forum webinars, products, and services that may be of interest to you.
We may need to send service-related emails from time to time, such as receipts for products or services purchased, login information for online or self-study webinars or seminars, or to provide access to handout materials. You may not opt out of receiving these service-related communications. Tax Forum does not sell, rent, or otherwise release your email address to any third-party (other than our third-party service providers), and we do not use your email for any purpose other than as stated in this Privacy Policy.
Postal Addresses
Tax Forum collects postal mailing address information from you so that we may fulfill the orders you submit to us, send you materials relevant to the seminar(s) and webinar(s) you sign up for, and to inform you about Tax Forum’s products and Services.
Credit Card Information
Tax Forum uses your credit card information only to process payment for the Tax Forum products and Services you purchase. We use third parties to provide credit card processing for your purchases. When you sign up for a Service or order a product from Tax Forum, the credit card information necessary to process your credit card payment goes directly to our third-party payment processor. If you provide credit card information to us over the phone, the charge is processed through the third-party payment processor and your credit card information is not retained by us. Our Site and those of our third-party payment processor uses encryption through secure socket layer technology (SSL) to safeguard credit card transactions.
Comments, Reviews and Feedback
When you submit to us any comments, reviews, or feedback about our Services through our Site or in connection with our webinars and seminars, you authorize Tax Forum to use such comments, reviews or feedback for our promotional purposes. We may use your first name, first letter of your last name, plus the name, location and general size of your firm in connection with such comment, review, feedback or other submission.
Disclosing Information
We may disclose your Personal Information:
- To our third-party service providers who supply services such as streaming and on-demand video services, data analysis, payment processing, order fulfillment, marketing, information technology, customer service, email delivery, credit card processing and other similar services.
- To National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), bar associations, state licensing boards and/or other governing professional bodies to apply for and certify the continuing education credits that you earn from attending our programs, seminars and webinars.
- To a third-party involved with Tax Forum in a reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of Tax Forum’s business, assets, and liabilities.
- As we believe necessary or appropriate: (a) under applicable law, (b) to comply with legal process, (c) to respond to requests from public and government authorities, (d) to protect our operations, (e) to enforce our Terms of Use, (f) to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property or that of you or others, or (g) to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.

Data Security
Tax Forum will take reasonable precautions to protect Personal Information in its possession from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our registration or order forms, the applicable systems encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the Personal Information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. We select service providers that we believe maintain high levels of data encryption and safeguards. We only collect and use Personal Information when there is a fair and legal basis for its collection and use and/or when you have consented to our collection. For example, we collect Personal Information because it is necessary to complete or carry out a customer request, including a customer-requested order for products or Services, to meet our legitimate interests to send marketing materials or to comply with legal obligations. All other collection and use of information is based on your consent.
Children Under the Age of 16
Our Site and Services are not intended for children under 16 years of age. No one under age 16 may provide any information to the Site. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 16. If we learn we have collected or received Personal Information from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.
